BOTOX for Men
Yes! Maine Laser Clinic offers Botox, Dysport and more for men. In fact, men are deciding more-and-more to receive Botox and other injectables to reduce wrinkles and rejuvenate their skin.
Is Botox safe for men to get?
Is Botox and Dysport safe for men? Absolutely! Like women, Botox offers similar results, however. We have heard people say they metabolize Botox faster because they’re men. Physiology can play an important role in how effective any given neurotoxin works. But! To say Botox is metabolized faster by men is not a fact. Men may metabolize Botox faster, but it’s not always the case. We can talk about this further during your consultation!
MEN - Will I look less like a man if I get Botox?
That’s a good question, but no…you will NOT look like less of a man if you get Botox. In fact, men who get Botox look exactly the same as men who don’t. The difference being Botox helps guys look more rested and refreshed. There’s nothing feminine about how a person looks after getting an injection to treat wrinkles. Check out our before and after photos to see how men look after receiving Botox or Dysport.

Is there any downtime after the procedure?
No. There is a possibility of slight bruising after getting injections but there is a list of medications we tell you to avoid to help lower risks of bruising. You may have small red areas where the injections were done, but those will resolve on their own very shortly after the treatment. You will be able to go to work the next day or even the same day if needed!
How long does Botox last?
Botox can last 3-4 months depending on the person.
What should you avoid pre and post treatments?
You should avoid any blood thinners before treatments due to slight increased risk of bruising. These can include Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, etc. After you should avoid vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours. You should also avoid massaging or touching the areas of treatment.
What can I expect to pay for treatment?
Botox is priced per area and per unit. The pricing varies depending on what areas you would like to treat as well as how strong the muscles are/deep the wrinkles are. You can come in for a free consultation to discuss what areas you would like to treat and to get quoted a price.
How long does the procedure take?
The first appointment is scheduled for 30 minutes but the actual procedure takes about 1-5 minutes total. Once we figure out what areas to treat and how many units we will be using, the Nurse will draw up the Botox and get it ready to inject. The actual injection part is the shortest of the whole appointment.
Does having Botox or Dysport injections hurt?
The procedure itself is so fast that there is very minimal discomfort. The smallest needles available are used for injection and most people say they can barely feel it. If you are someone who is more sensitive to pain, there is ice and other pain relieving measures we can use to help make it more comfortable for you.
What should I expect after receiving Botox or Dysport?
After the procedure, some soothing gel is applied to the face and you are good to go! You are able to resume almost all regular activities and be on your merry way! Botox takes approximately 1-2 weeks to fully kick in. You will gradually see the difference over the next 2 weeks. At the two week mark, you are able to return to the clinic to get a ‘touch up’ or more units if needed. It is always better to start with a lower dose and add more only if needed, that way you are not paying for more units that you do not need. Once we have the perfect dose that works for you.. It’s EASY! Just make your appointment for 3-4 months to get the repeat dose and stay on top of your Botox to get the optimal results!
